How does it add up?

If people who love LaPorte County contribute $2 million to the Unity Foundation, then Lilly Endowment will give another $2 million. That equals $4 million in new permanent funds!

Lilly's matching dollars and one half of the local dollars must go into Unity's community funds.

Why is Our Community Fund So Important?

This fund makes grants to education, the arts, health and human services, and the environment-to the whole community. It makes grants based on what the community needs at a given time. Needs can and do change. Events over the past months have reminded us of the very real uncertainties of life. With increased community funds, the people of LaPorte County can be more confident in their ability to respond to changing needs in their communities as years go by.

More than $300,000 has been distributed to 102 different charitable organizations since 1996, touching lives in many ways. These are funds that would not have been here if the Unity Foundation didn't exist.

Building the Community Fund means more resources are available to serve La Porte County when needed.
